PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS:

RSI Spring Softball Season:
* Start Date: RSI plans for our league to be start by the the last weekend of April vacation. Ultimately, our start date is dependent on both the weather, and when the Reading's Parks Department opens the fields. Coaches will keep their teams informed.
* Non-Tryout League: Our spring league is a non-tryout league. Every eligible child, who registers timely, will be assigned to a team roster. In the event that our rosters become full, or our field space limited, late registrants will be waitlisted, at no charge. When/if a waitlisted player is allocated to a team, notice will be sent. Upon completion of the registration process, that includes payment, the player will be activated.
* Division Age Brackets:
RSLL maintains four divisions bracketed by age from 7-16 year old girls, as follows:
Minors, 1st & 2nd Grade
Majors, 3rd & 4th Grade
Juniors, 5th & 6th Grade
Seniors, 7th Grade & Up

Please note these brackets are not rigid cutoffs. They are generally accepted LLI guidelines based on both safety and trying to insure each participant has a positive experience while playing. Although younger players can play up in a higher division an older player cannot play down, regardless of talent level, unless extenuating circumstances prevail.
* Schedule: Each team will play approximately 12 games per season plus playoffs.
* Attendance: In a non-tryout league we do not monitor attendance. We do limit the number of players per team to maximize playing time for each player and her importance to the teams overall success. Therefore, we do expect everyone make a reasonable effort to participate in every game.
* End Date: spring league events will end on our Championship Saturday, played in June.

RSI Summer Softball Programs:

* Summer Travel-Tryout League: This league runs from the end of June through the end of August. Where it's a traveling league, and more competitive, all eligible players are required to tryout. It is unlikely that every girl will make the cut. Therefore we do not charge a fee to register for tryouts. When/if a player is picked, a notice, to that effect, will be sent. Upon acceptance of that notice, the registration will need to be completed, including making your payment.
* Summer In-town League: This league is only open to our Minor and Major Divisions. This a non-tryout league. all eligible players, who sign up timely, should make a team. In the event our rosters become filled, late registrants will be put on a wait list. We do not collect registration fees for waitlisted player. When/if a waitlisted player is allocated to a team, notice will be sent. Upon completion of the registration process, that includes payment, the player will be activated.

RSI Clinics/Camps:
* Clinics will be announced from time-to-time, well in advance of their dates, for those who want to participate.

The following is an outline of how the league is intended to operate.
